Iko Iko
$140.00
“Iko Iko” was first recorded as “Jock-A-Mo” by James “Sugar Boy” Crawford and the Cane Cutters in 1953, but it did not get noticed. In 1965, The Dixie Cups scored a monster hit with “Iko Iko,” and it became part of the American songbook, covered by Dr. John, the Grateful Dead, and others.
My depiction here is a reminder that the song comes from the heart of New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian culture. ' Steve Joynt
